辻聡彦作 線刻絵付け陶板「ひまわり畑」

有田の作家・辻聡彦が、線刻技法と、呉須などの絵の具を用いて制作した作品「ひまわり畑」です。

半乾燥の陶板に一本一本線を刻み込む線刻技法によって生まれる奥行きに、呉須による藍色と、上絵付による黄色が重なり合い、画面に豊かなコントラストと立体感をもたらしています。線刻技法とは、半乾燥させた陶板に線を彫り込み、その上に釉薬や彩色を施すことで、線と色、光と影が織りなす奥行きを生み出します。辻が最も得意とするこの技法により、ひまわり畑の広がりと生命感が、静かに、そして力強く表現されています。

This ceramic plate, Himawari-batake (Sunflower Field), is created by Arita-yaki artist Toshihiko Tsuji using his signature technique of line engraving combined with painted decoration using gosu underglaze blue and overglaze yellow.

Fine lines are carefully incised into the semi-dried clay surface, creating a sense of depth and rhythm.
The contrast between the deep indigo of the gosu and the vibrant yellow applied through overglaze painting brings a striking balance of clarity and warmth to the composition.

Line engraving is a technique in which lines are carved into the surface of a semi-dried ceramic body.
When combined with glazing and layered coloring, these incised lines create dimensionality and visual depth.

This method, in which Tsuji excels, allows the expansive sunflower field to be expressed with both quiet precision and a strong sense of life.
